Artist Surfaces fabricate handmade Museum standard painting panels for professional artists. We are proud to launch our new Aluwood Painting Panels that are sanded smooth ready for painting.
 
Painting panels have an aluminium surface with a poplar plywood wood subframe which is sustainably sourced and PEFC and FSC certified.
 
Artists Surfaces use aluminium alloy 6082 sheets which are a medium strength alloy offering excellent corrosion resistance. This creates a painting panel that is rigid, light with a smooth surface that does not require any initial sizing or priming before painting. Aluminium will not react to changes in humidity or temperature.
 
Our AluWood Floating Painting Panels are  *WARP FREE*. We have engineered an aluminium extrusion that is included into the construction of each panel over 60x60cm that is discretely hidden on the reverse side of the panel. This aluminium extrusion makes the Aluwood Painting Panel impervious to twisting or warping.
 
The poplar plywood subframe has an attractive uniform tight grain and its white ivory colour makes it ideal for painting.
 
We offer a service to Gesso prime our painting panels.
 
Our AluWood Painting Panels are particularly suited for small, medium and large scale sized paintings.
 
Canvas or Linen can be stretched over the panels for artists that have preference for painting onto a solid surface.
